The intent of the British and Americans was to murder as many German civilians as possible.  They are indefensible from a military perspective and should be considered as morally evil as the Holocaust.  Innocent German civilians didn't deserve to be murdered because of Hitler.

I understand that feelings run high when dealing with events that led to mass civilian causalities.  However, any comparison between the bombings of debatable military value and the mass murder of the Holocaust is simply indefensible.

This thread is not a discussion topic.  It is simply an assertion, but one that lacks any research and evidence for its claim.  The only outcome of a thread like this is outrage and a flame war.  Posts like this are unacceptable.  If you want to make a statement, you must back it up with evidence and present your research.

OP's avatar showing a cross-dressed Nazi woman is highly dubious.  This is not a uniform worn by any woman in the Third Reich.

I'm leaving this thread unlocked for now in order for OP to provide supporting evidence for her claims.

I lived through the bombings. The intent was to terrorize the Germans into surrendering and to kill as many of them as possible. I have watched a lot of shows on the History Channel. It's a well known fact that the bombings were intended to massacre German civilians.

Your firsthand experience is incredibly limited and biased.  As you would know, the Nazi controlled media was an incredibly unreliable distributor of propaganda.  Second, the History Channel puts out a lot of incredibly pro German misinformation and shouldn't be considered a reliable source.  TV programming in general is not a reliable source of historical information.  They need to draw in views to sell ads, so the content is biased for audience retention rather then accuracy.

I'm willing to allow you to stay on the forum so we can help you reeducate yourself against your misconceptions, but I will not tolerate any attempts at pro-German revisionism.

I don't trust the Nazi media. I experienced what happened. If the History Channel is such an unreliable source, they would have been called out on it by now and forced to improve. Why are you throwing out such a source of easily available information? They have to be credible, so why would they make things up?

TV shows are unreliable because they usually prioritize views over accuracy.  Some might be well researched and presented, but most aren't.  Credibility is important to them, but if the viewers keep watching, that's all that matters.  They aren't intentionally making things up, but they don't have the best people doing research.  One person can spend a day going through low-budget books for information and easily throw together a script for an hour long show.

I'm locking this thread now before it turns into a flame war with the incredibly inflammatory title.
